Black Markets & Public Health

Black Markets & Public Health

I am a supporter of both THC and CBD, just to be clear. I found this video fascinating:

So, by that logic, we should de-criminalize all crime and replace punishment with medical treatment. Any crime you could name would have a proper treatment as well as a mainstream market for that crime, dealing in heavy regulation as well as standards & practices. Look at gun control in the US compared to other countries, for example. Criminalizing something creates a Black Market without Regulation for Public Health, Safety, and Quality of the output of those markets. In many cases, Prison is just a University for Criminals to network among themselves to become better Criminals. Abortions made Illegal only creates a Black Market for Unsafe Abortions that may end up killing the mother.

Given all of this, if you have religious reasons against my entire argument in this post, I would stay very quiet at the moment. Religiosity is now something you can be committed to a Locked Mental Ward for. I know this because I checked myself into one for a week or so for the sake of my own health, and I met two such Patients. Given the destructive history of religion on human progress, as outlined by writers like Richard Dawkins, I can see Religion in general as being viewed by the scientific community as an epidemic that must be cured by blue paper. You can defend yourself against a person, but not a system, and you may need to take your faith underground for a while. Complaining against such a thing will only make it worse. Christianity started out as an Underground Religion anyway until the Feudal Era. Pass the stories to your children, but only within the comfortable confines of your home, for as many generations as it takes. I am so sorry.
