Fictionalism, Pokemon, and the Bible

What about being Social in a Freemium City Building Game or an MMORPG can be used in the context of the Real World? The answer is nothing. Pokemon GO, being a real world freemium interaction game, is different in this way. You can apply the lessons learned in the entire mythology and story with the interactions you have in playing in a real life social setting while playing the game. Just like you would apply lessons from Biblical Stories in interacting with people in social settings, you can do the same with the moral lessons from the Pokemon Anime and Comics. I call myself a Fictionalist because I believe the stories from the Bible and the stories from Comic Books and Anime, as well as modern movies and TV shows, all have the same power to move people and teach morality that has present day functionality in everyday life. I’m an Atheistic Fictionalist because I believe in the dangers of using any story to convert people into warriors for the Holy War Agenda pitting people against each other in a war of ideas, fighting for hearts and minds. I don’t have a problem with you saying that the stories of Jesus or Mohammed inspired you to be a more moral individual. What I have a problem with is taking it a step further, and saying “I am an eternal slave to the blood of Christ and if you don’t join in my slavery you will burn for it forever”. If I used that same technique, I could say that if you thought the new Ghostbusters Movie was bad, you would never get laid again because all women are feminist, and they will all hate you for disliking the movie. You will never have children because of this.I could say that if you don’t believe that the story of Ash and Pikachu really happened in a parallel universe, you will be sucked into a Pokeball and never released. Forgotten in Professor Oak’s Lab with all the other Gen 1 Pokemon Ash caught. Stories have value because they move us emotionally, and change our moral structure. You remember the story of David and Goliath because it can be applied to real life experience, just as you could apply the story of how Charmander’s original trainer abandoned it when it was weak, almost dying in the rain before Ash rescued it and fought to keep it alive. The authenticity of any story is rooted in how it made you feel and what it taught you about your own life.
