Guys, Trump has to be Neutral in this matter. A politician’s job is to be a mediator, and not take sides. This is a case of taking violence that naturally occurs in politically charged riots, and using it to attack free speech. Trump’s point was “When does it end?” First we take down the confederate statues, and then we are smashing statues of former presidents and other leaders we didn’t like from history. And then, it escalates to getting tazed in public for daring to speak ill of any group or person. The path to hell is paved with good intentions.
This is true democracy, the rule of the mob. It is going to destroy us, and in the name of all that is good and pure. If that irony is lost on you, I’m not going to respect your opinion. Go back to grammar school. You need to start your education completely over again, and you damage our hard won freedom by pretending you know WTF you are talking about.
Many protesters can’t even tell you what it is they are actually protesting about, and I bet half of them can’t even read. I’m not just talking about these current protesters, I’m talking about every large protest lately.
I’m calling it the “I missed Woodstock” Effect.
People need to have something to fight for. They want their lives to mean something. A cause to call their own like the hippies at the time of Woodstock had when they were protesting the Vietnam War.
Every generation seems to need a cause to fight for. But not every generation gets the chance. Especially in wastelands of Suburbia.
“Doesn’t this blend of blindness and blandness make you want to do something crazy?!” -Christian Slater, Pump up the Volume
Trump said that both sides were to blame. However, people don’t want to hear that, and large numbers of angry people definitely don’t want to hear that!
The collective groupthink in that kind of situation is that there is a hero and a villain. One side is good, and the other is evil. Cut and dry. Very simple. And they won’t be convinced otherwise.
But the world is not black and white. It’s not binary with a clearly defined vision of Good and Evil that can be seen as a white knight with a magical shining sword and a comical supervillain that explains his evil plan every time, and always just long enough to get his evil plans foiled by the Hero.
Ask yourself this. Why have a White Supremacist March in the first place? If you have been paying attention to internet videos and network news for a while, you might have noticed that the “White Straight Man” has been, as a concept, the whipping boy scapegoat for all the evils in the world, and the poster-child for why minority groups need to fight hatred.
Feminist groups boldly advertise in online media that their soft drinks are filled with “Male Tears”, and BLM members have been known to say that African Americans cannot be racist against whites because they are institutionally and systematically oppressed by those white people. Feminists use the same argument. Men can suddenly be sexist against women, but the reverse is impossible.
All of this builds resentment over time. That is my guess as to why the white supremacists came to Charlottesville.
Are white people not allowed to feel hurt from all of this? There seems to be a double standard here.
I was born white. That makes me hated by certain groups. How is that not racism? I was born male. That makes me hated by certain groups. How is that not sexist?
It all sounds like the “Newspeak” in the book “1984” by Orwell.
Contradictions. A war of ideas in which fighting back isn’t politically correct for one side. Why is that right?
What frightens me is that in the US, IT IS RIGHT. It is…just.
If that is Morality, you can have it. Morality is supposed to be a good thing, but you liberal arts majors twisted it into doublespeak and made goodness into a horrible contradiction that exposes human nature.
The standard for good is now evil. The standard for evil is now good. The standard for ketchup is now mustard. Newspeak.
No wonder things are falling apart.
Trump looks at the whole thing and sees it for what it is. Two sides of a war that each think the other side is evil. Since it’s ok to dole out any level of violence and carnage on something or someone as long as they carry the title of “Evil”, people are free to engage in Human Nature without consequence.
